Elliot Spitzer brought down by bullshit wire-tap. America loses.

The Fed's are saying that they were investigating this international poon selling ring, Emperors Club, VIP, and that Elliot Spitzer just happened to appear on their wire taps. They also have said that they were alerted to a suspicious bank transaction by Spitzer's bank. So which is it? Were they or were they not investigating Elliot Spitzer?

They were investigating Elliot Spitzer all along. The details so far suggest that Spitzer spent approximately $15,000 on whores. Dont get me wrong, I agree that is a lot of money to pay some dirty tramps for a joy ride, but it also necessarily implies that some smaller sum therein triggered this massive investigation into his affairs. In other words, this investigation probably began subsequent to a (guess) $5,000 transfer. That is bullshit and his attorney's are going to eat this case up if the fed's prosecute it, which I think they are going to be forced to do. This is a political hitjob.

Most likely, political directive brought Elliot Spitzer under the U.S attorney's scrutiny. They used this miniscule transfer amount as a pretext to open an investigation into bribery and corruption. (Give me a fucking break) They soon realized that Spitzer was clean, but investigated the flow of money to Emperor's Club , VIP. At that point, they expanded the investigation and changed its focus to the club because they knew they could get wire-tap authority and snare Spitzer along the way. Bingo.

Here is the problem for these politically motivated republican U.S attorney's.. Now they are going to get fucked. Once Spitzer comes back from the ledge of his destroyed life, him and his attorney's are going to shove this bullshit criminal case right back up the U.S attorneys ass. Spitzer is a smart guy....wait...Spitzer is seriously a brilliant guy (with a major weakness for streetwalkers). After him and his legal team get done investigating what happened here, I promise you that this U.S Attorney will be flipping burgers when the dust settles.

I am not at all advocating Spitzers conduct here. He should have resigned. Some politicians might have been able to weather this storm, but not him. He made his entire career as the squeeky clean prosecutor who nailed corporate scumbags who routinely had their way with the american public. When you are as prosecutorily aggressive as Spitzer was, you can't break the rules....at all. He fucked up, and has paid for it with his entire political, professional and family life going completely down the drain.

Arguably the biggest loser here is the american public though. Certainly the american investor. Spitzer was the boogie man to these corporate suits who insist on swindling everyone in this country. Spitzer had shown the brains and the moxy to actually nail these sacks of shit over and over again. Is it any wonder that wallstreet celebrated this news story?

This man could have possibly become president of the united states. He really could have. He was above it all, a perfectly orchestrated public service record. He was untouchable.

Now he is gone. Who is going to keep their eye on wallstreet now?
